It’s time to get to know the trillions of microbes living in your gut!

There is very little these guys are not involved in when it comes to health. Research has linked imbalances in the microbiome to:

  • Diabetes, insulin resistance
  • Autism, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Anxiety, depression
  • Allergies, asthma, eczema
  • GORD (reflux)
  • High cholesterol
  • Heightened stress, insomnia
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Ulcerative Colitis
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome, SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth)
  • Symptoms of gas, diarrhea and bloating
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Weight issues and obesity

What’s impacting our microbiome? Lack of variety in our diet, processed and pre-packaged foods, constant eating without times of fasting, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, high dietary sugar, low fibre and polyphenol intake, antibiotics, medications, pesticides, chemicals, stress and lack of sleep amongst other factors.

By analysing the DNA of your gut microbes we can identify any microorganisms and imbalances that may be contributing to your health status. Tests start at about $100 and provide insights into the different types and amounts of health giving and harmful microorganisms, parasites and yeasts that you’re sharing your body with. Tests can also measure inflammatory markers along with molecules that indicate how well we are digesting and absorbing nutrients.

A specific dietary and nutritional protocol will be created to modify the number of bacteria and the balance of populations so that we can improve your symptoms, energy and quality of life. We will use nutritional supplements (prebiotics and mod-biotics) that stimulate bacteria to produce health giving compounds, hormones and nutrients.
